Madiun - PT INKA (Persero) has completed the delivery of 11 trainsets of the New Generation Train. From the beginning of its production until April 2024, PT INKA (Persero) has completed and delivered a total of 11 trainsets, consisting of 8 sets of executive class (K1), 2 sets of economy class (K3), and 1 mixed set consisting of 4 K1 cars, 5 K3 cars, 1 Dining Car, and 1 Generator Car.
In addition, PT INKA (Persero) has also completed other train cars, consisting of 3 non-trainset cars, which include 1 dining car and 2 baggage cars. All of these train car sets have been delivered to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Meanwhile, the 12th trainset is undergoing dynamic testing on the track. As for the next trainsets, they are still in the production process at PT INKA (Persero) factory in Madiun.
The production of the New Generation trainsets by PT INKA (Persero) is a manifestation of the dedication and hard work of the nation's children in providing the best train products. Agung Dwi Cahyono, Senior Manager of Public Relations and Representative Office of PT INKA (Persero), hopes that this will be a manifestation of the development of railway transportation in Indonesia.
"Of course, PT INKA (Persero) is dedicated to continuously providing the best quality for railway transportation in Indonesia. We will continue to coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure product quality through the applicable testing phases. We hope that this New Generation Train will be a manifestation of the development of railway transportation in Indonesia," said Agung on Friday (3/5/24).
The superiority of the new generation train cars produced by PT INKA (Persero) is quite significant compared to the previous generations. For example, in the economy class used in the Majapahit train series, the capacity of the train car, which used to accommodate 106 seats with a formation of 3-2 and upright and facing seats, has now transformed into 72 ergonomic single seats with a 2-2 formation, which is much more spacious and comfortable for economy class passengers.
Several features available in various other classes include the Digital Passenger Information & Display System, On-Train Customer Service displayed in digital train numbers, digital seat numbers, estimated time of arrival (ETA), information on the last destination station, current station, and stations to be passed, information on the status of open/closed doors, toilet occupancy status, room temperature, seat rows, as well as the names and phone numbers of staff.
Furthermore, a significant difference from the old version of train cars is the presence of automatic doors equipped with anti-trap features. The automatic doors in these new generation trains include entrance platform doors and passenger compartment doors and inter-car connectors.
The new generation trains from PT INKA (Persero) are also equipped with corrugated bellows at the inter-car connections. Thus, noise on the train can be better dampened, making the journey safer and more comfortable for train passengers.
