PT Industri Kereta Api or PT INKA (Persero) is a state-owned enterprise (SOE) and the first integrated railway rolling stock manufacturer in Southeast Asia. Our focus is on delivering high-quality products and services to our customers. We provide a wide range of products to meet customer needs and offer after-sales support to ensure that customers receive the best quality products. Our products have been exported to various countries, including Bangladesh, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Australia.




Company History

The head office of PT INKA (Persero) stands in the Jalan Yos Sudarso area, Madiun, East Java. The existence of the head office and at the same time the train factory, which was once the Balai Yasa of the Railway Jawatan Company (PJKA) on an area of 22.5 hectares, witnesses the history of the long journey of PT INKA (Persero), which is the first and largest state-owned railway manufacturer in the Southeast Asia (ASEAN) region.

Apart from Madiun, to get closer to stakeholders and policy makers, PT INKA (Persero)'s steps are also supported by the Representative Office in Jakarta. In order to always be close to the main customer who is also his “old brother”, namely PJKA which is now PT Kereta Api (Persero), it is also supported by a Representative office in Bandung, West Java.

The birthday of PT INKA (Persero) is celebrated every August 29th. Formally, PT INKA (Persero) was established on May 18, 1981. Furthermore, the handover of the train factory operations by PJKA to the management of PT INKA (Persero) was carried out on August 29, 1981. This date was later recorded as the birthday of PT INKA (Persero).

When it was established, PT INKA (Persero) was under the technical guidance of the Department of Transportation. In 1983, the guidance was carried out by the Strategic Industry Advisory Board (DPIS). In 1989, under the Strategic Industry Management Agency (BPIS). In 1998, its management was under the Minister of BUMN Empowerment. In the same year (1998), PT INKA (Persero) became a subsidiary of the holding company PT Bahana Pakarya Industri Strategis (BPIS). Following the dissolution of PT BPIS in 2002, PT INKA (Persero) is under the management of the Ministry of SOEs until now.

The choice of red, black, and white colors represents the Tri Prasetya INKA: Integrity, Quality, and Professionalism.

Red: Symbolizes a company that always prioritizes professionalism, readiness to face challenges, resilience, and enthusiasm in achieving company goals.

Black: Represents a firm and sturdy company that prioritizes quality and timeliness in every product it produces.

White (Base Color): Symbolizes professionalism based on faith and piety, upholding integrity and honesty, maintaining sustainable competitiveness, and creating added value to the environment.
